“The recurring crises of high petroleum prices in the country is the direct result of government’s continued adherence to bankrupt policies which has strengthened and emboldened the cartel of the oil industry. Unless government places the people’s interest at the forefront and turns its back on the policies of deregulation, privatization and liberalization we, as a nation, will continue to be at the mercy of capitalists and our impoverished workers and masses will be driven deeper into poverty. The regime of oil deregulation must now be abandoned. The Value Added Tax on oil products must be scrapped to provide substantial relief to the people in this time of crisis. This is what the people want, this is what PNoy should do.”
